Working class people are on the receiving end of so many cuts to wages, jobs and services. But it is clear the millionaire-owned press and media have no interest in telling the stories of how ordinary people are being impacted by austerity. All the mainstream papers in own way or another support the Assembly parties’ austerity measures.
The capitalist press also fails to report issues and give analysis from a non-sectarian point of view – all the main newspapers have a sectarian agenda and mostly give a one-sided picture of events.
The Socialist is a paper which reports and provides analysis for working class people in both communities, for young people, for trade unionists and those interested in a socialist alternative.
The Socialist is the only Northern Ireland left-wing monthly newspaper which provides a unique analysis of events at home and abroad. It plays a vital role in highlighting the effects of the Assembly parties cuts, reporting on struggles and arming people with answers to the excuses of the politicians.
Even better, if you would like to sell The Socialist to your workmates/family/mates etc. get in touch and we can supply you with some copies.
